Not only is it a cool as shit aesthetic/genre its also really eye opening about our modern world. Its stuff that's happening and deals with on the nose problems people face or ignore today. Maybe that's why it hasn't caught on a ton, its not a far off impossible fiction, its a possible reality in the near future. News stories are staring to hit the top of this sub more often than fiction and art after all.
