Is the new Blade runner based on material from the novels?

I hear that the first blade runner is based of the novel "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" and according to Wikipedia there is quite a number of sequels to that book. I haven't read any of them but from the information surrounding the movie so far, is there any inclination of it following a similar story to any of the books?
