From IMDB: "Strange events begin to occur as a withdrawn girl named Lain becomes obsessed with interconnected virtual realm of "The Wired". "I tried to watch this when I was first interested in the genre as it's usually recommended amongst anime like Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-Pass, and Ergo Proxy, but I couldn't handle the style. Now trying again, it's the best thing ever. I'm only halfway through but so far it's a hallucinatory, Lynchian dream-state that hits every note perfectly. Definitely a recommend.
