Anyone who is into cryptocurrency (especially now that Ethereum is lowering the barrier of entry to new ventures) has probably heard of ICOs. In very simple terms, it's similar to an initial public offering, but instead of selling shares for a company, cryptographic tokens are distributed among investors, so they can profit from a decentralized product as it evolves.I find it very, very cyberpunk. People are aligning themselves with these essentially autonomous programs (sure, they are developed by companies, but the code is generally open source and the user base has the final say in case of a "hard fork", when deciding which evolution of the code to support). Communities are forming around them with fervent defenders that will undermine trust in competing products to maximize their individual profit. It is likely that the current ICO situation is going through a bubble, since the amounts raised for these projects are stupidly huge, but nevertheless I think this model is going to be more prevalent in the future. The corporations of the future may end up being decentralized, autonomous programs.
